METHOD The Ss were the first 50 chronic alcoholics (35 males and 15 females) who were readmitted for treatment after a t least one year and who had valid M M P I profiles a t both times of admission (L, F, and K T scores below 80). To increase the potential utility of the shortened format, recent forms of the MF and SIscales(3) were also examined since, if reliable, they might be added t o the Mini or Midi. The present study investigated the long term stability of these short scales, compared with the standard M M P I scales.
